Situationist App Case Study

The Challenge

As part of a Joint Venture with [highlight2]Benrik[/highlight2] and [highlight2]Barac Consulting[/highlight2], we were briefed to create [highlight2]Situationist[/highlight2], a user-location based app. The concept of the app was new and required development of a new solution.

The Solution

After preparing detailed specification, we started the development of the app based on the UI and art work created by Benrik (http://www.benrik.co.uk) and John-Henry Barac. The app faced many challenges due to the nature of the concept. During the development process we approached different creative solutions that would address these challenges for the first time. The solution also includes a sever side, moderation app and integration with social platforms.

The Result

The new product uses advanced location based technology to create situations for its users when certain location criteria are met. The app was launched on the 7th of March 2011. The app has been named as one of the top location apps by Guardian. The app has also received press from Wired, The Next Web, The New York Magazine, Gizmodo, and Huffington Post amongst others.
The app was also extensively covered by independent blogs such as Your Apple Place, Memory of Awesomeness, and Audrey Watter’s to name a few.

More details can be read from the [highlight2]Situationist site[/highlight2].
